The Hamburger Menu

Have you noticed that icon pictures are starting to take over as replacements for certain words? For instance, instead of seeing the word “Print”, you’ll see a small printer icon. That has been around for a long time, but have you noticed the 3-line icon? It’s called a “Hamburger Menu” and signifies a menu from which you will find many options. Google Chrome uses this as do many websites and apps.

Windows 10

Is it time to upgrade? 9 out of 10 of the computers I’ve upgraded to Windows 10 have been successful. And now Microsoft is forcing the upgrade. If you haven’t been upgraded yet, and don’t want to, please contact me. If you’re ready, let’s do it! Microsoft will offer Windows 10 as a free upgrade through July 29th.

Full Screen Mode

Sometimes it’s nice to be able to see your screen without all the menus and footers that are part of the program you’re in. For this, there is full screen mode. The F11 key on a PC keyboard will toggle on and off the full screen mode. Holding down Control-Command-F on a Mac keyboard will do the same thing.
